dooodley...
finally, the tour of dudley in the UK, my old house and playground....ha ! someone pinched it......and the old movie house is now a wine bar...! the schools still there as is some shops we used to go to... I stayed with relies and had a great time catching up with everyone, cousins, partners and kids, unc still keeps a greenhouse for the vegies a family trad'n all of 17 deg in there..! i have some old B&W 's of grandad in his greenhouse...., we had a mad road tour with my aunty zipping around the streets...the house my folks 1st lived in, my nans place, colleges and work places none of which i recognised apart from dudley zoo...went there 30 years ago, funny the places you remember...there's more to edit yet and no mad rush, I'll keep em coming........
nothing's drying clay wise today so it'll prob be monday for firing now to fill the kiln, i like to have a good pack so that's the plan now, trim the rest of the plates and finish the loading...

ReplyDeleteWonderful! So VERY different than our landscape here. We have very little brick and concrete due to the extreme weather conditions. Our state is so young we also have very few older buildings. Fun to see how other people live!
ReplyDeletehi Hollis very english yes, it was really cool just to wander around dudley and follow the main wall apparently the earl of dudleys boundary wall now heritage listed..and some really great details in the architecture....
ReplyDeletehi cindy, it was great to see 'home' again we still have a link with family still there, we saw all the brick molds in the black country museum too plus heaps of industrial stuff that vids next i think..yeh our too cindy, so you'd be mostly timber then? adelaide's only 165 yrs old and the city has a terrible habit of knocking old things down....
