Ahh yes what started out as another video has become stills, oops flat batteries in the vid cam...

so here we go cheats handles wrapped around what else but the broom handle..

just slice through with a needle and wvalla..!

i got through maybe a third of these guys today trimmed carved and handled, more later..

the timer ran out on the kiln so that shut off way to soon, rectified immediately but i still lost 100deg, total bummer should have finished by 5pm but ended up leaving it set til 7pm, so fingers crossed all is ok..and the timer kicked off correctly...

i prepped some more tiles for the clay collectives next show during sala, the tiles are along the same idea as my last but using more textures and oxides and glazes for surface deco..my lovely paperclay is a bit whiffy but it makes great tiles, so onward..

and off to queensland next weekend to catchup with my brother and family and take opportunity of the long wkd for a break and hit the galleries hopefully...and super exciting news I booked a trip to the UK last week so look out guys invasion time...woohoo..

rainy sunday afternoon...

ohhhh so wet, wet setting up, wet from the ground up, wet down the sleeve poor rose...a brave attempt at clearing a large puddle on our roof resulted in a very cold shower......ohh nooooo...

also bubble wrap's new function a very stunning skirt! kept me warm and much dryer!!

and this guy he's more of a mini horse!!!  stirling market is quite the meeting place for dogs..

and how's the selection of umbrellas they were out in force, some really cool kids ones with ears and extra bits and brollies of all sorts..

a wee little t-pot

here's a wee litte t-pot for my neice its for a friends 21st this wkd... came out sweeet ..i have my suspicions about our general clear glaze it does seem to be affecting the outcome of colours these days .. not so anyone else would know, but i've noticed purples and reds are being altered..

speaking of which i'm happy with the last red tests frm this weeks firing,  i think ive cracked it!! finally a dark red tone i'm happy with for the table tiles and it works next to the other final colours as well.. yip ray....

more tomorrow we've started a saturday group at the club its nice to have some company down there and also time to catch up on extra work that need trimming and handles etc from mid week group day.. more pics tomorrow, i'm making some cups and mugs to go with the new teapots and an new idea for yee bloggers more on that shortly, a little across the world connection...kind of idea tagging or chinese whispers for pots....online or for real.....

here we go then all bar one teapot handled and lidded up..we got drowned out this afternoon by what only sounded to me as a heavy metal band warming up in the football club obviously for some form of celebration tonight, my ears are quite amenable to most  forms of music but heavy metal in a tin shed ....nup!! so the last little fella will be finished tuesday night...I'll be adding a little colour then too..

we had a great day at the club today i must say i think we spend more time drinking coffee and eating lunch and catching up that getting a great deal of work done ..hence these guys will prob be finished on sat. more spouts and lids and decorating to do then..we're talking about setting up a saturday group I seem to be there most sat. anyway i'll be glad of some company...

back in the saddle again...

well here we are, after a good session at the club today i really feel like i'm back in the saddle again...

this does feel a little like confessional!...well it's been a foul couple of months and since my uncle's passing this week is the first back in the studio actually throwing, it felt good to get the clay under my finger nails again!... I started assembling some teapots one for my nieces friend so i'd better get it right... the others either the urban cow or market..there are a few more gallery spaces around town i should probably visit and see if they're interested in my work......well a few cups and mugs and the old milk and sugar sets will complete this tea party..

also feeling much better, I went to visit my naturopath in hope of clearing my lungs a month ago, they've been a bit gunked since last winter and with a change of diet a few concoctions and lots of vitamins and such i started to feel much better, well then i caught a cold, excellent,  yey!! and finally today i feel like i'm getting better....so what was i going to say oh yeah one of the changes to my diet was no cows dairy.  Sooo off to the central market in search of sheeps dairy and there just happens to be one on kangaroo island...who knew?? well it's pretty decent stuff, i was surprised, so i now have sheeps fetta, kefalotiri a kind a tasty cheddar, and sheeps yoghurt.

 I also must make the trip KI, it's quite the place to visit these days with wineries and lots of great scenery and of  course the Island Pure sheeps dairy... anyhooo happy weekend all, hopefully lots of creating this week... cheers ang..
